Icknield Vet Group: Facilities

All three surgeries have been fully computerised since 1994 and are linked together so we can access all case records from any of our surgeries.

We have facilities for consulting and most operations and dental treatment at each of our surgeries.

Animals requiring major operations or more involved diagnostic investigations may be referred to our Luton centre where we are well equipped with x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, dental equipment, anaesthetic monitoring and laboratory facilities.

Our emergency out of hours service is provided by a Dedicated Critical Care Team who are available outside normal surgery hours. To contact this service after hours, please ring the usual branch number and your call will be automatically transferred. There is a surcharge for consultations after normal working hours.

Surgical Operations

Routine operations, eg neutering and dental work, may be booked by telephone during normal office hours and are carried out on weekdays only.

The receptionist will explain about admittance and collection times and withholding food and water. We advise that cats should be kept inside overnight, with access to a litter tray, and that dogs should be taken out to pass urine etc, before being admitted.

Icknield Vet Group: Surgical operations

New patients or those that have not seen the vet for some time, are usually checked by a Veterinary Surgeon before being admitted. Please inform reception if this is the case.

Before leaving your pet, you will be asked to sign a consent form to allow us to go ahead with a procedure and to leave a daytime phone number in case the Veterinary Surgeon needs to contact you.

Emergency operations can be carried out at any time and may take precedence over routine procedures when necessary.
